We have several highly talented artists at Kairos. Made in the image of the creator God, releasing our creativity is a gateway to spiritual awareness. We encourage everyone to discover and unlock their hidden talents and spiritual gifts.

Below are thumbprints and small descriptions (if appropriate) - click on the image for full size.

Others, 1997 (Matt)

People clutter their lives with so many things that occupy the place that God should take. Jesus can fulfil the needs in the heart of our lives, like a photo of a friend; some recognise him and some don't, putting other things in the way. When examined all things point to an ultimate truth, a true light source.

At Rest, 2001 (Matt)
Based on William Scott's 'Permutations Ochre' currently in the Tate Modern. The spherical form, which could not come to rest on any of the other surfaces, has found its true resting place in the 'U' where it is fully stabilised. The sphere once belonged to the lower part of the picture but now belongs to a different place, like a leap from the known to the unknown. There are other forms to choose from in the unknown place, some apparently more like the U-form than others, but none of them are capable of providing the same peace to the sphere.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matt. 11)

United, 2001 (Matt)

The profound mystery that 'two become one' in marriage. Something beautiful, glued together by something even greater, and more mysterious.

Scratchcard Calf, 1996 (Matt)
Considering counterfeit spirituality. It seems ridiculous that a golden calf could answer our deepest needs, but the Israelites thought it would for them. I was thinking here about things we invest hope in, but which when examined are actually folly.
