Music and Worship
Worship
is more than the songs we sing. It's a way of life. Worshipsongs without
a life thatexpresses the praise of our lips would be empty; a life of
service without delighting in God together through music leads would be
spiritually malnourished. As we discover our potential in Christ and seek
to express his love, at work, at home and with friends, we demonstrate
genuine appreciation of God. A grateful heart produces a positive overflow
to those around us.
When
we meet on Sundays, music is very important at Kairos. We encourage our
highly talented musicians to develop a free-flowing contemporary sound,
blending songs together yet giving space for personal response.
We believe God is with the musicians in their preparation and with us
together in the event of public worship. Planned and spontaneous combine
in a feast of praise.
Our
worship seeks to connect with the eternal worship of heaven, where delight
in God is perfected, and also with our everyday, where God's availability
is sometimes compelling, sometimes hidden. Kairos worship seeks to be
creative and inspiring, but never coercive. We want to give space for
people to enter into a deeper awareness of God, but also for each to be
real in their present circumstances: one wants to be quiet and another
exuberant; one rejoices and another weeps. In the gracious presence of
God we offer a sacrifice of praise and discover a deeper freedom to be
ourselves.
Vital
parts of our worship together include Communion, opportunities for personal
prayer and experiencing the inclusive love of God's extended family. We
worship the risen Christ together and discover more of his love through
one another.Authentic worship from the depths of our whole being
is what God-in-Trinity deserves and what we are designed to express: we
are created to delight in God. As we sing God's praise together, we sense
the divine presence and our inner being is re-energised.
