FUSION

Fusion Youth Group was set up at the request of the young people from the High Path Estate who attended 'Soul in the City - Wimbledon' in 2005. It is affiliated with Urban Saints (formerly Crusaders).

When: Every Tuesday during term time, 7:45 - 9pm

Where: St Johns Church Hall, High Path.

Who: Anyone aged 7-14 years of age.

A Fusion evening will consist of exhilarating team games, Fear Factor - a very mess competition, a thought provoking small group time, chat, and refreshments. The small group times allow young people to discuss issues they are facing. This time also involves investigating what the bible says about the issue and allows for open and frank chat. Fusion provides young people with somewhere safe and fun to hang out, and the opportunity to learn about the Christian faith.

Socials: There are a number of socials a term with trips to the cinema and other venues.

Workshops: We aim to run at least one workshop a year, and these are decided upon in consultation with the young people who attend Fusion. In 2007 Fusion had a drumming workshop with leader 'Phil', which went down a storm! The young people learnt a bit about the history of African drumming and then each received a Djembe on which to learn to play together as a group. The course ended with a finale for parents. Leaders come from a variety of churches across Wimbledon and we are always on the look out for more volunteers to help lead.
